International Girl Child’s Day CelebratedSubmitted by bosconrd on Oct 12, 2017 BOSCO Bangalore and Rainbow Homes, organized International Girl Child Day at BOSCO Rainbow Home, Wilson Garden, Bangaloreon October 11, 2017. The celebration based on the theme, ‘Girl’s Safety – Nation’s Safety’, began with a rally from Lalbag Gate to Rainbow Home, Wilson Garden, Bangalore.
Chandrakala M B, Inspector, Traffic Police Station, Wilson Garden, Bangalore, released balloons to the air and flagged off the rally. Speaking at the valedictory programme, chief guest, Vasantha Ravi Chandra, Former Corporator, Hombegowda Nagar, said ‘you all look like rainbows let your colours glow ever brighter’. Lakshmikanthamma, ICPS, Bangalore, said that girl children are not inferior to anyone. They have immense potentials to become great. Every girl child should be educated. She exhorted everyone to join hands to prevent Child marriage.

Edward Thomas, Convener, Rainbow, Rahim, Director, Need Based India and Raju, State Coordinator, Rainbow Home spoke on the occasion.Malini, Naina Enfold Agency, Rose Mary, Qatapult Learning Solutions, Manjula, Sammaan Organization, Bangalore, Mahadev, Snehaghar Rainbow Home were the resource persons for the programme. Over five hundred children participated in the programme.
