Submitted by bosconrd on Jan 06, 2018 Public Awareness Campaign on Importance of Child Rights Education and Social Responsibility was organized by BOSCO CREAM project at GKT Higher Primary School, Vasanthnagar, Bangalore on December 30, 2017. Addressing the gathering, Sampath, Ward Counsellor Vasanthnagar, Bangalore spoke about important of education and social responsibility. He said he was very happy to be part of this program and ensured his support whenever required. Bhimsen Ghatagi, PSI, High Ground Police Station, Bangalore, spoke about child-friendly police and instilled confidence in children in approaching the police for any kind of help or support without any fear or hesitation. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, CREAM, BOSCO explained about child rights and responsibility. Later the guests flagged off the campaign.
A rally was held through GKTHPHS, Vasanthnagar, Ambedkar Bhavan, High ground, Gulbarga Slum and Ambedkarnagar areas of Bangalore with placards, banners and shouting slogans. A street play on the importance of education was staged by Child Rights Club members to identify school dropouts and re-enroll them into schools. Mr. Sudarshan, HM, GKTHPS, Mr. Ramachandra Rao, LXL, Bangalore and Mr. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, CREAM, BOSCO were present for the porgramme. Over hundred and eighty children and seven teachers from GKTHPS, ten staff from LXL and 6 staff from BOSCO participated in the program.
