BOSCO National Inter-Collegiate Annual Essay CompetitionSubmitted by bosconrd on Feb 01, 2018 BOSCO Bangalore organized a two-month long National Level Inter-Collegiate Annual Essay Competition on the theme ‘Child is not a problem, child has problems’, that concluded on January 27, 2018. The competition that spanned countrywide had student participants from various academic streams such as Social Work, Sociology, Media, Economics, Engineering, Law and Psychology, from various colleges/universities. The topics for the essays were issues concerning children such as ‘Child Abuse, the reasons for occurrence and how it could be eradicated’, and ‘How Caregivers/ Parents become the indirect targets of child rights violation’.
The essays were evaluated by a Panel of three members which included Fr. Previnth Joe Tony Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore, Dr. Maya M., Professor of Christ University, Bangalore and Ms. Ann Tharakan, Lecturer of Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. The first prize was awarded to Ridhi Shetty, National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad, second prize was awarded to Mansi Tejpal, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad and Rose Mary Thomas, Don Bosco College, Wayanad, Kerala bagged the third prize.
