Children’s Cultural Fest at BOSCO BangaloreSubmitted by bosconrd on Feb 01, 2018 BOSCO, Bangalore, an NGO working with the underprivileged children and youth, organized children’s Cultural Fest on the occasion of the feast of Don Bosco at BOSCO Mane, Chamarajpet, on January 28, 2018. At the inaugural programme, B. Govindaraju, Vice Chairman, BMTC, Bangalore, said, “The society should create a child-friendly environment for the holistic development of children”. Dr. Kishore Kumar MBBS, MD DNB, Director, Critical Care, Brindavan Areion Hospital, Chamrajpet, Bangalore, speaking on the occasion applauded the services rendered by NGOs. N. Narayana Swamy, Deputy Director, Department of Woman and Child Development (DWCD), Bangalore, exhorted the children to make optimum use of the available opportunities.
“Children, focus on your goals, believe in yourselves and you can scale great heights”, said Kishore Kumar G, cine actor addressing the gathering during the valedictory function. Rajesh LY, Circle Inspector, Attibele, Bangalore, exhorted children to involve actively in the noble task of nation building, following the example of their teachers. Speaking on the occasion, Nagaraj Yadav, Chairman, BMTC, Bangalore applauded the services of BOSCO, Bangalore. ‘Quest for Change: A Glance at the Reality of Runaway Children’, a research study undertaken by BOSCO, Bangalore, was released on the occasion.
The programme was held as the grand finale of a month-long celebration that included as quiz competition, children’s sports day, inter-centre cultural competitions, etc. The winners of the competitions were awarded prizes during the function. Fr. Rubin, Director, BOSCO Yuvodaya, welcomed the gathering and Manjunath, Railway CHILDLINE, BOSCO, Bangalore, proposed the vote of thanks. Over four hundred children and staff participated in the programme.
