First Aid Training Program for BOSCO StaffSubmitted by bosconrd on Mar 03, 2018 Health Care Department, BOSCO, Bangalore organized First Aid Training program for the staff of BOSCO at BOSCO Mane on February 23, 2018. Addressing the group, Dr. Selvasekar Abraham, Senior Consultant, Department of Family Medicine, Martha’s Hospital, Bangalore, explained in detail about the importance of First Aid and the six steps involved viz, detection, reporting, response, on scene care, care in transit and transfer to hospital. He briefed about the first aid during cardiac arrest, when somebody is choking or suffering from shock, convulsions, spinal injuries, bleeding, severed parts and fractures. He also explained the risks of diabetes, hypertension and head injuries.
Dr. Lalitha, Lalbagh Nursing Home, Bangalore, conducted a session on Healthy Nutrition and Diet. She spoke about the importance of a balanced diet, especially for children. She suggested changing the menu for the children every three months so that there will be more variety in their diet. Nineteen staff from different programs of BOSCO, Bangalore, participated in the program.
