Training for community leadersSubmitted by bosconrd on Mar 28, 2018 Child Rights Education and Action Movement (CREAM), BOSCO, Bangalore organized a training program on ‘Child rights and child related issues’ for the community leaders of J.J.R Nagar, Shivajinagar, K.R. Market, Flower Garden, J.C Road, Nelamangala, Ranasinghpet, Chaluvadhipalya and Tippu nagar on March 24, 2018 at BOSCO Nilaya, Bangalore.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Aslam Khan, State President of Urdu schools, J.J.R Nagar, Bangalore said, ‘Child is for learning not for earning’. Jabeen Taj, CRP, Padarayanapura Cluster, Bangalore urged the NGOs to encourage and support government schools. Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, BOSCO Nilaya said, ‘We see God in children. It is important to be human and see them as individuals with their own identities’. Mr. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, CREAM, BOSCO Bangalore, briefed the purpose of the program with a motivational video. The sessions were about Protocols for social security and their importance, Procedure for RTE Schemes, Values of being human, Children protection mechanisms, Combatting child marriage and child labour.
Shivamallu, Coordinator, Foster Care Program, BOSCO Bangalore, briefed about the procedures required for adoption and foster care. Many leaders suggested that training programmes of the communities as more number of people would be benefitted with the knowledge. Parvez, Union Leader, Caring Community, Motor Parts, Shivajinagar, Bangalore pledged to stop child labour in his community. Kamal, Muslim Community Leader, J.J.R Nagar, Bangalore and Forty-one community leaders attended the program.
