Training for Panchayat Raj Institutions at AnekalSubmitted by bosconrd on Aug 06, 2018 CREAM, BOSCO, Bangalore, organized training for PRI members at Mayasandra panchayat, Anekal, Taluk, on July 28, 2018. Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, CREAM Project, BOSCO, Bangalore, said, “If every village and its people are empowered on child rights and follow the same, then a Child friendly village can be established.’ He explained about BOSCO, CREAM Project, Child Rights and their importance.
Ramaswamy, Coordinator, CREAM, briefed about Panchayat Raj Act and UNCRC. He said, “According to Panchayat Raj Act, it is the responsibility of Grama Sabha to make sure that child rights violation does not take place in the village. Children are the Wealth of a nation.” He spoke about CHILDLINE and Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU). Jyothi, Foster Care, BOSCO, Bangalroe, spoke on parenting, importance of parental care and Foster care.
Amaresh, PDO, Mayasandra Panchayat, appreciated CREAM, BOSCO and welcomed CREAM Team to conduct more training in the next Grama Sabha. Latha, Agriculture officer, Vijayal, CDPO, R. Suresh, BEO, Harish, Grama panchayat member, twenty-seven government officials, four Staff and forty people participated in the programme.
