The interactive session by Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, BOSCO CREAM Project, included a video on ‘Lesson for my Teacher’. Through the session, tips to improve work performance and problem solving were explained. A session on Foster Care by Shivamallu, Coordinator, BOSCO Foster Care Program, included history, definition, laws, procedure, public support systems, documents required, etc. Difference between adoption and Fostercare was briefed.
A presentation was done on gender equality by Ramaswamy, Coordinator, BOSCO, CREAM Project. At the session, staff gained knowledge on the definition of equality, gender stereotypes, female infanticide, factors affecting gender equality, gender-wise population statistics, gender based jobs, laws related to women and girl child, and methods to contribute to gender equality in our home, society and in nation. Fr. Regi Jacob, in his concluding remarks, said that empowering children with life skills and value education is as important as that of academic skills. Twenty-nine staff attended the training programme.
