Salesian Provincials Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) and Delegates visited BOSCO Mane, Chamarajpet, Bnegaluru on February 28, 2021. Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru welcomed the gathering. Shivaraju, Programme Manager, BOSCO Bengaluru, presented BOSCO, its activities and services in the rescue and rehabilitation of the young at risk to the group through a power point presentation.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Fr. Biju Michael, Don Bosco South Asia Regional Councillor, narrated a story from the Bible to children and exhorted them to become celebrities like Lokesh by utilizing the opportunities provided by BOSCO. Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal, Provincial, Bengaluru Province, appreciated the services of BOSCO in rescuing and rehabilitating lakhs of children and young down the years transforming their lives for the better.
Mr. Lokesh, Sandalwood Actor and Comedian, shared about his life and how BOSCO rescued and rehabilitated him. He proudly said that he vowed his life to BOSCO for making him an independent, responsible and successful individual who has carved a niche for himself. Ms. Sumitra, who completed her schooling and college studies from BOSCO Vatsalya Bhavan expressed her gratitude to BOSCO for transforming her into a successful individual. She said that she is proud to be working as a staff in BOSCO. Children from BOSCO Vikas, Mane, Yuvakendra and Vatsalya Bhavan girls performed cultural programmes.
Fr. Mathew Thomas felicitated Rev. Fr. Biju Michael and Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal during the occasion. Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, BOSCO CHILDLINE and BOSCO Sumanahalli, proposed the vote of thanks. Thirty Salesian Delegates, Directors of BOSCO, around hundred fifty children and staff of BOSCO were present in the programme.
