Women’s Day Celebration

 BOSCO Nivas organized International Women’s Day for the mothers of Tuition children and community members at Navbaharsha School, Mackan Compound Shivajinagar on March 7, 2020.
Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, BOSCO Nivas,in his introductory words, said, ‘’There should be a balance between career and family. Girls should know their right to defend themselves and be careful about the crimes against women.”The guest of honour, Dr. Noor Fatima,DDPI, Education Coordinator, North III Range, shared about her tales of struggles and successes. She emphasized on the need for gender equality for a healthy society. She strongly felt that a girl child’s education will result in the overall development of the community and the nation as a whole.
Fr. Stephen Lawrence SDB, Member, CWC, Bidar, said that it was the time to uphold women’s achievements, recognize challenges and focus greater attention on women’s rights and gender equality.Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru, thanked the women from the community for extending their support towards BOSCO and its activities in shaping the future of children.
A mime show was presented by children from Mackan Compound, depicting the atrocities faced by women and evil of infant foeticide. A few party games wereorganized by Fr. Regi.Ms. Shalini, Social Worker, BOSCO Nivas, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Waseem, Coordinator, BOSCO Nilaya, proposed the vote of thanks. Around seventy-five women participated in the programme.
