Railway CHILDLINE, BOSCO Bengaluru, conducted one day training about the role of GRP officials in the rescue and rehabilitation of children, at the Office of the Superintendent Police, KSR Railway Station, Bengaluru on February 26, 2020. Mr. Baramappa B Mallur, Police Inspector, GRP delivered the inaugural address. Mr. Ashok, DIG, GRP, spoke about child friendly police and how one can help a child in need of care and protection. Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Director, Railway CHILDLINE spoke about BOSCO and its areas of service.
Ms. Anjali Ramanna, Chairperson, CWC 2, spoke about the role of CWC and the procedures involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of the needy children. She explained about the role of GRP in the care and protection children at risk by sharing various case studies and examples. The session for female staff included the challenges they face at their workplace and on balancing their professional and personal life. Ms. Rashmi, Program Manager, CIF welcomed the gathering and Johnson Joseph, Coordinator, Railway CHILDLINE proposed the vote of thanks. Forty-five GRP officials from all over Karnataka attended the training.
