BOSCO CHILDREN’S SPORTS DAY 2020

BOSCO Bengaluru organized Children’s Sports Meet at BOSCO Sumanahalli on January 19, 2020. Addressing the children, the chief guest, Dr. AV Ravi, former Mr. India and International Body Builder, Bengaluru, said, “You can also become one like me. You have to make use of the facilities that BOSCO provides you, respect your elders, teachers and your fellow beings to achieve what you dream of. You can make a career in sports.” He also shared about his life experiences and his struggles in becoming a body builder. He said that he was always open to train and coach the children and youth of BOSCO. He was felicitated by Fr. Regi, Director, BOSCO Nilaya and Nivas, Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, BOSCO Sumanahalli and CHILDLINE, Sr. Silvy Lawrence, Director, BOSCO Yuvakendra and Sr. Sheeba, Director, BOSCO Vatsalya Bhavan. Children and staff took oath during the programme. The Olympic Torch was borne by the leaders representing the centres and areas that BOSCO is associated with.
Various sports events like running race, relay, high jump, long jump, shot put, musical chair, sack race, frog race, lemon and spoon race and tug of war were organized for sub juniors, juniors and seniors. The winners were awarded with medals and certificates. Fr. John MA, Administrator and Director, BOSCO Mane, Fr. C. V. George, Director, SJPU and ARSP Projects, Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Director, BOSCO Yuvodaya, staff and volunteers were present at the event. Fr. Prasad SDB welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Around 500 children participated in the sports meet.
