Environmental Education in schools

BOSCO CREAM Project organized Environmental Education for the children of GMHS, Karithimmanahalli, GKMPS, Chamrajpet, GKHPS and GUHPS, Doddamavalli, GUHPS, Barlane, Dr.T.C.M. Royan Road and GKMPS, Attiguppe, Bengaluru on January 10, 11, 14 and 16, 2020. The purpose of the training was to introduce and empower children to become new generation farmers to achieve sustainable farming. Through an interactive session, the children were given information about the importance of gardening, ecology and the need for organic farming. The procedures for establishing and maintaining vegetable garden was enumerated. Objectives and importance of establishing ECO Clubs were explained. Five ECO Clubs with fifty children each were formed. The roles and responsibilities of the ECO Club members were explained. Ms. Rajeshwari, CRP appreciated BOSCO for such an initiative. The Headmaster assured support towards fulfilling the project goals. Children listed out the vegetables that could be planted in the garden. Hundred and hundred and twenty girls attended the training.
