Child Rights Week

 BOSCO Bengaluru, observed ‘Child Rights Week’ on the theme ‘ALL RIGHTS TO ALL CHILDREN’ to spread awareness and promote child rights from November 14 to 20, 2019.
Against the backdrop of the increasing violations and neglect of child rights, BOSCO CHILDLINE, Railway CHILDLINE, CSN, Nilaya, Nivas, ECCE CREAM, ARSP, SJPU and Yuvakendra teams organized rallies, pledges, surveys, signature campaigns, silent jatha, shop to shop and door to door awareness, public awareness, community awareness, stakeholders’ awareness, awareness in moving trains, awareness on ‘child found begging’, child labour and child marriage, Rail Yatra, day with Special Children, debates, essay competitions, video presentations, street play, wall painting, anti-child trafficking campaign, launch of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, public speeches, tying suraksha bands, open house programme, and drawing competition, during the week long programme.
The weeklong programme culminated with a ‘Silent Candle Light March’ at Upparpet Police Station, starting from Pothys, KG Road, Bengaluru on November 20, 2019 in the presence of Smt. Nagaratna R, Chairperson, CWC 3, Bengaluru Urban and Shri. Mahant Reddy, ACP, Chickpet Sub-Division, Bengaluru. Tulasi, Child Representative, read out the memorandum asking the authorities to protect all their rights. The signatures of the children and public, and the memorandum were presented to Shri. Mahant Reddy.
