Training on Reporting and Documentation

BOSCO National Research and Documentation (BNRD) Department organized half-day training on ‘Reporting and Documentation’ for BOSCO staff at BOSCO Mane on July 27, 2019. Facilitating the session, Deepa VasantKumar, Coordinator, BNRD, explained the meaning and purpose of documentation and reporting. The participants were asked to follow the inverted pyramid structure while writing a report. The importance of the factors like timeliness, proximity, prominence and magnitude while making a report was also explained. BOSCO reporting formats were introduced to the participants and they were made to practically apply the learning by furnishing the reporting formats with appropriate information.
Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru, focused on the photography for reporting and documentation. He spoke about the news worthiness of the photos. He gave tips on simple techniques while taking photos, frame, content, background, lighting, etc. Participants felt that the simple writing techniques and elements learnt would help in filling accurate and proper reports. Twenty BOSCO staff participated in the training.
