School Awareness Programme

BOSCO Special Junvenile Police Unit (SJPU) team organized awareness programme in Government Higher Primary School, Papareddypalya, Bengaluru, on July 11, 2019. Mr. Basavaraju, Coordinator, BOSCO SJPU Project explained about JJ Act, POCSO and child protection mechanisms by quoting various examples. He also explained about child rights, CHILD LINE, toll free number 1098.
Short Video, “SHE” was screened. Kavitha, Social Worker, BOSCO SJPU Project, explained about safe and unsafe touch. Two children shared about a child marriage being planned in their neighborhood and requested the team to stop it. The children were instructed to make a call to the child helpline number-1098. Fr. CV George, Director, SJPU Project was present in the programme. Two hundred and seventy children were benefited from this programme.
