Towards a Child-friendly Society

CHILDLINE, BOSCO Bengaluru organized open house programme at Govt. Higher Primary School Veerabhadranagar Bengaluru, on July 02, 2019. Addressing the gathering, Fr. Prasad, Director, CHILDLINE, BOSCO Bengaluru spoke about the objectives, roles and responsibility of CHILDLINE, Right to Education Act and JJ Act. He briefed about the purpose of the Open house programme.
Mr. Siddhalingaiah Police Inspector, Girinagar Police Station said, “The police are committed to building a child friendly society.”He explained about POCSO Act 2012. He exhorted children to stay away from bad company and youths who are into substance abuse and other antisocial behaviors. The students expressed about various issues; the authorities present provided solutions and assured support.
Mr. Vinay K, Sub Inspector Girinagar Police station, Mr. Anjanamurthy Cluster Resource person, Veerabhadranagar, Ms. Shrilatha, President, SDMC, GHPS Veerabhadranagar, Mr. Shivarudrayya, Head Master GHPS Veerabhadranagar, Ms. Usha Nayak, Coordinator CHILDLINE Bengaluru were present. Mr. Johnson welcomed the gathering; Mr. Vinod Sandeep compered and proposed the vote of thanks. Around one hundred and eighty students and School teachers were present for the programme.
