Inauguration of Shaale Kade Nanna Nade Campaign

Inauguration of the week long enrolment and re-enrolment awareness campaign of school drop outs, and out of school children into mainstream schools – Shaale Kade Nanna Nade was flagged off in the working areas of BOSCO Bengaluru on May 20, 2019. Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru, briefed about the importance of education and enrolment. Addressing the gathering, Fr. Prasad, Director, CHILDLINE, BOSCO Bengaluru spoke about the purpose of organizing the programme to bring back drop outs into schools from the different areas of Bengaluru.
CREAM Project BOSCO Bangalore with the support of BOSCO Yuvakendra and BOSCO CHLID LINE organized the campaign at GKEHP School at KP Agrahara, Magadi Road. The youth from Yuvakendra enacted the theme based mime in different streets of KP Agrahara and conducted a rally. Fr. George CV, Director, Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), other staff and forty-six children participated in the program.
BOSCO Nilaya Team in collaboration with BOSCO Rainbow Home started their campaign at Gurappa Garden Ground. BOSCO Rainbow children performed a skit. Message on the importance of education, enrollment and re-enrollment to schools and facilities at Government schools was disseminated through shouting slogans, displaying placards; flex boards, and distribution of pamphlets. Around hundred and fifty children from Vinobhanagar and Gurappa Garden were part of rally. Eighteen children from Vinobhanagar and four children from Gurappa garden were identified for enrollment. Eleven children from Vinobhanagar and five from Gurappa garden were identified as dropout children. Around nine-hundred community members were given awareness in the area.
The campaign headed by BOSCO Nivas Team with the support of BOSCO Railway CHILDLINE and ARSP teams and twenty-eight children from Ambedkar Huts, Mackan Compound, and Nehrupuram and Nivas tuition centres went around the areas with placards, shouting slogans, drawing people’s attention to the cause of education, enrolling children into government schools, and utilizing the facilities provided by the government in schools.
The programme at Snake Charmers’ Colony, Laggere was taken up by Child Safety Net (CSN) with the support of SJPU team. The pamphlet with the information on the enrollment and re-enrollment campaign was officially released. Around hundred children along with BOSCO staff and school teachers took up the rally around the area shouting slogans and distributing pamphlets. All those present in the programmes took a solemn pledge to identify and bring back drop outs from area and communities into schools.
