ECCE Programme, BOSCO, Bengaluru, organized mothers’ meeting at Jolly Mohalla-2 and Janatha Colony, Bengaluru, on February 4 and 5, 2019. The topic for the meeting was ‘Parents role in child development, nutrition and dangers that children are likely to face’.
Ms. Ravikumari, Cluster Coordinator, ECCE Programme, addressing the group, spoke about the importance of Child Development and measures to be taken by parents for their child’s growth and development. Importance of early childhood care and education was briefed. Mothers were motivated to teach the topics taught in the Anganwadi using the resources available at home. Mothers were asked to take care of their child’s health status by following the Immunization schedule. Cleanliness, punctuality, regularity, respect for elders are the few habits that mothers were asked to teach their children regularly. Child protection mechanisms were explained. Mothers were informed about the need for gender equality. Mothers were asked to teach other languages other than their mother tongue. Thirty-one mothers, AWC Teachers and Helpers participated in the meetings.
