BOSCO Annual Quiz Contest 2019

Don Bosco Annual Quiz competition for the children of BOSCO was held at BOSCO Mane on January 19, 2019. Dr. Suresk Kumar, Radiologist, Brindavan Aerion Hospital, Bengaluru, Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru, Fr. Binny K, Director, BOSCO Mane, and Child Representatives Ms. Tulasi and Master Manjunath inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Suresh Kumar said, “Winning or losing the competition is secondary, but participation is important.” Giving insights into the programme, Fr. Prasad, SDB, Director, BOSCO CHILDLINE and Sumanahalli, exhorted children to be happy in life in order to become like Don Bosco who treated life as a celebration in spite of difficulties, and negativities. Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru spoke on the occasion.
Eight teams representing different centres and areas-BOSCO Mane, Vikas, Vatsalya Bhavan, Nilaya, Nivas, Rainbow Home, Yuvakendra, Sumanahalli and Foster Care children participated in the competition. The quiz masters Arun Irudhaya and Santosh Steven, Kristu Jyothi College, Bengaluru conducted the program. The format of the quiz involved eleven rounds. The rounds included MCQs, filling up the gaps, individual round, maze round, general round, pick and speak, deal or no deal, picture zig-zag puzzle, rapid fire round, buzzer round and audio round. Children from BOSCO Vatsalya Bhavan emerged as the winners and runners up were Vikas children. All the participants were given mementos. Basavaraju PN, Coordinator, BOSCO SJPU project welcomed the gathering and Shivamallu, Coordinator, BOSCO Foster Care Programme, proposed the vote of thanks. Forty children participated in the quiz contest.
