Training for NGOs at Ramanagara

District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), Ramanagara organized a training programme on ‘Tracking the Child Portal Information, Foster Care, CHILDLINE Tollfree number and police number’ for NGOs at District Health & Family Welfare Unit, Ramanagara on January 3, 2019.
Ms. Lakshmi Prasanna, Paraspara Trust, Bengaluru spoke about ‘Track the Child Portal Information and Basic Facilitation of Childcare Organizations’. Mr. Shivaraje Gowda, Former Member, Karnataka State Children’s Rights Protection, Bengaluru, spoke about Investigation Committee. Mr. Shivalingayya, District Investigation and Childhood Board, Ramanagar spoke about Maintaining Child Files in Child Care Institutions.
Mr. Shivamallu, Coordinator, Foster Care Programme, BOSCO Bengaluru, gave introduction about BOSCO and its services, explained about CHILDLINE, Child rights, Foster care concept, Group Foster Care, Individual Foster Care, Kinship care, Purpose of Foster Care, difference between Adoption and Foster Care, selection criteria of potential parents and children, age group of children, time frame of placement, legal procedures, roles and responsibilities of Child Welfare Committee. Twenty-six NGO staff participated in the training.
