Open house Programme Report

CHILDINE Collab, BOSCO Bengaluru, organized open house programme at Govt. Higher Primary School and High School Sunkenahalli, Bengaluru on December 14, 2018. Fr. Regi Director, BOSCO Nilaya, in the key note address spoke about Child Rights and responsibility of children.
Fr. Prasad, CHILDLINE, BOSCO, Bengaluru addressed the gathering and briefed about the objectives and purpose of the open house programme. He explained about CHILDLINE 1098. He said that according to RTE Act 2009, every child below 14 years of age should get free and compulsory education. Mr. Kambayya, Police Sub Inspector, Hanumanthnagar expressed that greater number of children are getting addicted to drugs, smoking, alcohol etc. So, he exhorted the children to stay away from evil elements in the society. He explained about POCSO Act to children through examples. Children said in unison that they would support CHILDLINE. Children shared about the various issues faced by them and the authorities present suggested possible solutions to them. Ms. Annapoorna, ASI, Hanumanthnagar police station, Mr. Ramaswany, Coordinator, CREAM Bengaluru, Ms. Usha Nayak Coordinator, CHILDLINE Bengaluru, BOSCO Collab were present for the programme.
