CREAM Project, BOSCO in collaboration with BOSCO Nilaya, CRY and ECCE Programmes organized essay writing competition on the theme, ‘Stop Child Marriage’ at BOSCO Nilaya on November 16, 2018.
Mr. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, CREAM, BOSCO Bengaluru spoke about the purpose of the programme and briefed regarding the rules and regulation of the essay competition. Ms. Prathibha, CRC Coordinator, HDFC, guided all the participants to take an oath to protect themselves and safeguard the rights of other children. Children wrote the essay in English, Tamil and Kannada as per their competence.
During the feedback session, Master Dhananjay expressed that the essay competition brought a competitive spirit and suggested to organize more of such competitions. Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, Nilaya, BOSCO Bengaluru, in his concluding note briefed about Child marriage and said, “You as children must be a medium of change. Let us together create a child friendly society.” Fourteen Child Rights Club leaders, members, students from BOSCO Nivas tuition center and St. Joseph’s High School children participated in the competition.
