The Migrant Help Desk, BOSCO Bengaluru along with DB4M, Karnataka (Karnataka intra/interstate Migrants Alliance for Transformation -KISMAT) observed International Migrants Day on December 18, 2024, at Thanisandra, Saraipalya, Bengaluru. This special event was a testament to KISMAT’s commitment to supporting and empowering migrant workers in Karnataka. The event aimed at appreciating the tireless efforts and invaluable contributions of migrant workers to society. The program was designed to promote a sense of community, exclusivity, and recognition among migrant workers.
The participants engaged in a range of recreational activities and games to foster sense of sharing and joy. The participants were also treated with refreshments and prizes, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. To ensure maximum participation and engagement, the program was conducted in Hindi, facilitating better understanding and interaction among the migrant workers. Around 43 migrant workers, primarily hailing from Bihar and West Bengal, skilled in various trades such as carpentry, painting, and polishing, working in construction and infrastructure development participated in the event.
