The Labour Migration Unit of the Indian Social Institute (ISI), Bengaluru, in collaboration with MAX Organization and BOSCO Bengaluru conducted a workshop for migrant construction workers at the Shriram Property building site in Bengaluru on February 6, 2025.
Fr. Samir Minj, Head, Labour Migration Unit, Bengaluru, led the session on substance abuse, shedding light on its harmful effects on life, work, health, mind, body, finances, and relationships. He emphasized how addiction can become a destructive force in one’s life, affecting both personal and professional well-being. Fr. Samir also provided practical guidance on overcoming bad habits, encouraging workers to take control of their lives. He assured them that with determination and effort, they could break free from addiction, leading to a happier family life and a brighter future.
The session was interactive, with workers actively engaging in discussions and sharing their experiences. More than 100 migrant workers from Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh participated in this insightful session.
