‘Fun with Sun’ a summer camp, was organized for the girls of BOSCO Rainbow Home at Don Bosco, Davangere, to provide opportunities for children to learn new things from April 11 to May 5, 2025. The children were divided into four groups. On April 12, 2025, the children participated in the drawing competition and awareness sessions while observing the International Day for Street Children. The children enjoyed visiting Indian Music Museum at JP Nagar, Bengaluru and celebrated Ambedkar Jayanthi. Children at the camp participated enthusiastically in the outdoor and party games, they gained knowledge of leadership, time management, team work, discipline and personal hygiene. Aside from this, they had different competitions every evening, such as fancy dress, skits, group singing, dance, etc. Additionally, they learned how to make greeting cards, wall hangings, flower making, basic embroidery, stitching, drawing, painting, and more along with the value education and life skill sessions.
BOSCO Vatsalya Bhavan organized a four-day summer camp for the transit home children and fresh children at the centre and for the senior children at Maria Nivas, the Destitutes’ Home, Electronic City, Bengaluru from May 5 to 9, 2025. The activities included theme-based drawing, dance, gardening, exploring the nature, supporting the senior citizens in their chores and so on. The juniors were occupied with learning art and craft, engaging in various group activities such as singing, dancing, participating in a fashion show, performing Zumba and going on outings. Fire camp was organized. At the end of the camp both the groups ( Seniors &Juniors) were taken for the movie at ETA Mall. It was a good opportunity for the children to learn new skills and also exhibit their talent.Thirty senior children and forty junior children participated in the camp.
3-day summer camp at BOSCO Yuvakendra was filled with fun, learning, and joyful experiences. On the first day, the children played energetic games like “Dog and the Bone” and gully cricket, which encouraged teamwork and quick thinking. The second day focused on mind games and a creative American flag activity that highlighted unity and teamwork. On the third day, the children enjoyed a refreshing outing to Shoolin Resort, where they had fun swimming, rain dancing, and playing indoor games. The camp created lasting memories and brought smiles to every child.
BOSCO Vikas organized ‘Summer Splash’ – a summer camp for the children of the centre at Don Bosco Centre, Davangere from May 2 to 22, 2025. Crafts classes, loud reading, drawing competitions singing competitions (Folk songs, film songs, solo, and group songs), dance competitions (group / single), quizzes, speech competitions, skit competitions, night Olympics, campfire, meditation and activities enhancing leadership, coordination, communication skills were carried out through the camp period. Fr. KJ Joseph, Director, BOSCO Mane, Fr. Regi Jacob, Rector, DB Davangere, MS. Jecintha and Br. Ajay were the resource persons. Fifty boys were present in the camp.
