International Youth Day

International Youth Day was celebrated in BOSO Nivas, Yuvaspandana and Yuvakendra on August 12, 2025, at their respective centres and at St. Joseph’s University. The session ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’, at St. Joseph’s University, aimed to inspire youth to take personal responsibility in creating a positive impact in society. Conducted by Fr. Deepu, Project Manager of BOSCO, the programme encouraged students to lead by example, adopt values of honesty, Compassion, and service and actively contribute to building a better community.

At Yuvaspandana, the programme began with an introduction to International Youth Day and its importance. The resource person explained who is considered a youth and discussed the roles, responsibilities, and opportunities that come with being young. Interactive discussions were held where participants shared their ideas and views on how they can contribute to society. The session highlighted qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and self-awareness, while also encouraging youth to take small steps towards personal growth and community development.

At Bosco Yuvakendra, the session was conducted by Ms. Priyanka and Mr. Girish from the UNICEF Neravu team discussed various issues faced by the youth, such as drug addiction, emotional and physical abuse, smoking and alcohol consumption.  The youth took an oath to uphold the values of youth empowerment and positive living.
