BOSCO Nivas, Vikas, Mane, Vatsalya Bhavan, Rainbow Home, Yuvakendra, and Sumanahalli celebrated Makara Sankranthi on January 15, 2026, at their respective centres. The festivities began with a prayer song, invoking the Almighty’s blessings. The Directors of each centre spoke about the significance of the festival, highlighting that Sankranti or Pongal marks the harvest season and the Sun’s transition from one zodiac sign to another. They explained that although this harvest festival is known by different names across various regions of India, it universally represents a time to thank the Almighty for his generosity. Sweets and sugarcane were distributed to all the children and youth who participated enthusiastically in the celebrations at the BOSCO centres.
