Foster Care Programme, BOSCO Bengaluru organized State Consultation and Workshop for Foster Care Organization/ Stakeholders Meeting Minutes at Don Bosco Makkalalaya, Mysuru on April 10, 2026 and Don Bosco, Hospet, on April 15, 2026.

Fr. Jim Jose, Director, Don Bosco Makkalalaya, Mysuru and Fr. Michael, Administrator, Don Bosco Hospet, emphasized that stakeholders play a vital role in ensuring that children find a family. They also highlighted the importance of collaboration of Stakeholders, NGO’s, CWC and DCPO in placing every child in a nurturing family environment.

Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru, shared BOSCO’s activities and milestones of Foster Care, and highlighted that around 75 children were placed in foster family from 2023 to date. He shared the responsibilities of the stakeholders and exhorted that they disseminate the information regarding foster care to all their friends, relatives, contacts and community members and help in identifying the prospective parents and children.

Mr. Ravi, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Mysuru, Mr. Yogesh, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Mysuru, Mrs. Latha, Chairperson of Chamarajanagara, Mrs. Rashmi, DCPO, Mandya, Mrs. Ghousia, Member of CWC, Mr. Sudeep Kumar, DCPO, Vijayanagara, Mr. Channabasappa, Probation officer, Non- Institutional Care, DCPU, Bellary, and Mr. Sharanappa J, Probation Officer, Non-Institutional Care, DCPU, Vijayanagara, spoke during the meetings.

Foster Care Posters and Makkalalaya Magazines were released by the dignitaries. Mr. Shivamallu, State Project Coordinator, ACCR shared Foster care concept and Purpose of the meeting. Forty-nine stakeholders from Mysuru, Chamarajanagara and Mandya participated in the meeting at Mysore and thirty-five stakeholders from Vijayanagara and Bellary participated in the meeting at Hospet.
