BOSCO Vikas, Mane, Sumanahalli, Nivas, Nilaya, Vatsalya Bhavan, Rainbow Home, Yuvakendra, Yuvodaya, Bus Stand Team, Juvenile Advocacy and Magadi Road Projects celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, on the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” The celebrations were organized at their respective centres and intervention areas.
The Directors of the concerned centres inaugurated the programmes and addressed the participants on the significance of World Environment Day. They emphasized the vital role each individual plays in protecting the environment and encouraged children and youth to become responsible stewards of the earth. They urged them to adopt environmentally friendly practices and develop greater sensitivity towards nature.
The children presented cultural programmes highlighting the importance of environmental conservation. Posters and slogans carrying messages on environmental protection were displayed, and saplings were planted to help children understand the importance of preserving Mother Earth. Sessions were also conducted to educate children and youth about practical steps for conserving nature and maintaining greenery. The participants pledged to protect and care for the environment in their daily lives.
The programmes witnessed the participation of centre and tuition children, students of St. Xavier’s School, staff of DCPU, KSR Railway officials, Observation Home staff, police personnel, government school staff and students, members of the USIRU Foundation, Anganwadi children, as well as BOSCO staff and volunteers across the various centres, schools and intervention areas.
