International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

BOSCO Nivas and Sumanahalli organized awareness programmes on ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ to create awareness about drug abuse, illegal trafficking, child rights, child protection, and prevention of child labour for the children, public and different stakeholders at St. Xavier’s High School and Sumanahalli Centre on June 26 and 30, 2026. The theme was “World drug problem: persisting issues, new challenges, innovative responses”. Nivas team and Sumanahalli team explained the harmful effects of drug abuse, signs of drug abuse, the role of parents and teachers, and how they must be vigilant towards the behaviour of the children. The event emphasized the collective responsibility of society in combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Overall, the programme contributed to fostering awareness, responsibility, and commitment towards a drug-free society. Police Officials were present on the occasion. Schoolchildren, teachers, and trainees of Sumanahalli attended the awareness programme.
