Posted On: 02nd Nov 2026

BOSCO Sumanahalli organized a Tool Kit Distribution Programme on October 25, 2026, for children from economically disadvantaged migrant families and slum communities in Bengaluru who face challenges in continuing their education due to a lack of basic learning materials.

The programme was led by Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director of BOSCO Bengaluru. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of education and explained how providing essential educational materials can help prevent school dropouts and child labour. He also highlighted the crucial role of parents in motivating and supporting their children’s education.

During the interactive session, children shared their challenges, including the lack of study materials and adequate study space at home. Parents spoke about the financial difficulties they face in meeting their children’s educational needs. The discussion also explored the possibility of introducing evening study support and regular follow-up to ensure that children make effective use of the kits and continue their schooling.

The programme benefited 35 children from migrant families, who received educational kits to support their learning. The initiative brought joy and renewed motivation to both children and their parents, reinforcing the importance of education and assuring children that they are valued and supported in their educational journey.
