Awareness for Panchayat Raj Institutions

BOSCO Foster Care Programme, organized awareness programme for Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) at Bedarahalli on June 4, 2019. The programme was organized with the assistance of Ravi Kumar, Secretary, Bedarahalli Gram Panchayat. Shivamallu, Coordinator, Foster Care Programme, BOSCO Bengaluru, spoke about BOSCO and its services. He also enlightened the PRI members on CHILDLINE toll free number (1098), child rights, Foster Care concept, types of Foster Care, purpose of Foster Care, difference between Adoption & Foster Care, selection criteria of potential parents and children, age group of children, time frame of placement, follow up of children, legal procedures, roles and responsibilities of Child Welfare Committee. Twenty-five PRI members including the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) participated in the awareness programme. Vijayalakshmi, Social Mobilizer, Foster Care Programme, welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks.
