Karnataka Special Reserve Police (KSRP) organized awareness programmes for Student Police Cadets (SPC) selected from BBMP Schools in the city, in four batches at BOSCO Mane Chamarajpet, from November 18 to 21, 2019. Mr. M V Ramakrishna Prasad, KSPS, SP, KSRP addressing the gathering on the second day of the programme said, “You need to have dreams and goals in your life. Once you fix a goal, you should toil tirelessly to achieve it. Ms. Bhuvaneshwari, Headmistress, BBMP School, Chamarajpet exhorted children to capitalize the opportunities at hand and become good police officials one day. Mr. Mufid Khan, PSI, KSRP, Koramangala spoke on the occasion.
The programme was organized with the objective to train and sensitise student police cadets about children in need of care and protection and to gain knowledge about the functioning of Child Care Institutions. Mr. Basavaraju PN, Coordinator, Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU) briefed the children about Juvenile Justice Act, child rights, children in conflict with law and mechanisms for the care and protection of children. Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, CHILDLINE Collab, BOSCO Bengaluru spoke about the services rendered by BOSCO Bengaluru and CHILDLINE 1098. Mr. Doddamani, ASI, Mr. Aslam Nevani and Mr. Guruswami Y, staff and 320 students participated in the programme.
