BOSCO National Inter-Collegiate Essay Competition 2019

BOSCO Bengaluru organized a two-month long National Level Inter-Collegiate Annual Essay Competition that concluded on January 27, 2019. The objective of the competition was to create awareness on child rights, child welfare and bring attention to issues concerning the young at risk in the society. The competition that spanned countrywide had student participants from various academic streams such as Social Work, Sociology, Media, Economics, Engineering, Law and Psychology, from various colleges and universities. The topics for the essays were- ‘Online safety challenges and children’, ‘Children and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Spaces for adolescent participation on matters concerning them.
The essays were evaluated by a panel of three members which included Fr. Previnth Joe Tony Kristu Jyothi College, Bengaluru, Dr. P.M. Mathew, Christ University, Bengaluru and Dr. Mini Mark Bonjour, St. Joseph’s College Autonomous, Bengaluru. The first prize was awarded to Rajitha A from Central University Bangalore, second prize was awarded to Owais Qadir and Himanshu Singh from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
