CHILDLINE Collab, BOSCO Bengaluru organized the campaign against child beggary launched by KSCPCR and the Police Department by reaching out to Mahalakshmi Layout and RMC Yard police station limits with public announcements through PA system engaging a vehicle on November 18, 2020. The Hoysala Police vehicles from the concerned police stations joined the team to give awareness to the public at APMC vegetable market, Swimming pool Road, Mahalakshmi Layout Bus Stand and Main Road, Nanda Nagar, Ashoka Nagar, Yeshwanthpur, Goraguntepalya, Kantheerava Nagar, APMC Ward, Goutam Nagar Community areas and traffic signals. These areas were earlier identified by CHILDLINE as vulnerable areas. The police assured to continue the support to CHILDLINE in rescuing the children in need of care and protection.

The team sensitized the officials at the jurisdictional police stations and moved through the vulnerable areas and signals together with the Hoysala Police vehicles. The team gave awareness at Bangararappana Gudde, Bairappana Badavane, Cow-beggars’ Colony community and Jawaregowdana Doddi that come under RR Nagar Police Station limits and Hosakerehalli, Hosakerehalli Cross, Bus Stop, Main Road, Veerabhadranagar Signal and the community near Hosakerehalli Signal that come under Giri Nagar Police Station. CHILDLINE team along with the police officials warned parents and employers who had brought children to the place of work. They agreed that they would not employ children.
