Capacity building for ICDS Staff and School Teachers

BOSCO Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme organized Capacity Building training for ICDS Staff and School Teachers at BOSCO Nilaya on November 21, 2019. Training was given on storytelling, social and emotional skills. Distribution of Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) to Anganwadi Centres and Schools was done on the occasion.
In the keynote address, Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, BOSCO ECCE Porgramme, emphasized the importance of inculcating knowledge, value, attitude and skills in children during the early stages of their development. He facilitated an interactive session on qualities of a good teacher, roles and responsibilities of a teacher and briefed about various ways of storytelling through videos using Digital tools.
Mr. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, ECCE Programme, explained the methods to teach socio emotional skills to children. Ms. Divya, AWC Teacher, demonstrated the use of the TLM. TLM were distributed to thirty schools and twenty Anganwadis. Some of the teachers felt that using LM on a regular basis has increased the attendance of children in the schools. Twenty Anganwadi teachers, thirty School Teachers and seven CRC members attended the training.
