Child Safety Caring Community Force

The team working in Gandhi Nagar area organized the follow up meeting of the Child Safety Caring Community Force at BOSCO Yuvodaya on May 13, 2025. Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru gave an overview of BOSCO and its work. He explained the purpose of this meeting to make Gandhi Nagar a ‘Child Labour Free’, ‘Child Friendly’ and ‘Child Safe’. In order to achieve the purpose, he requested the support of the Government, NGOs, commercial establishments and public. KM Basavaraj, Coordinator, Gandhi Nagar Area, shared about the survey conducted during April 2025 of revisiting the commercial establishments in Gandhinagar to see the outcome of the campaign conducted during the previous year. PN Basavaraj, Coordinator, CSN project explained about the Child Labour Act and the Child Welfare Committee. Ramaswamy, Coordinator, Juvenile Advocacy Project briefed  the group on JJ Act. The meeting was attended by nine caring community group members including Ms. Sulochana, ASI, Upparpet Police Station and Child Welfare Officer.
