Posted On: 27th Jan 2026

BOSCO Bengaluru organised a grand Children’s Cultural Fest at BOSCO Mane, Bengaluru, on January 25, 2026, to honour the legacy of Don Bosco, a remarkable figure whose life and work continue to inspire and uplift Young at Risk. Through this festival, children were given a platform to showcase their talents, celebrate their culture, and build confidence in a supportive environment. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bengaluru and Chief Guest for the programme, addressed the children by blessing them and offering words of encouragement. He remarked, “Today is not only the Feast of Don Bosco, but also a festival for children. Looking at all of you, I feel as if I am in a garden of colourful flowers. Heaven’s kingdom belongs to children. May you always cherish your dreams, work hard, and grow up to be responsible citizens who bring pride to your families and society.” Addressing the management and staff, he added, “Whatever you do for children is done for humanity.”

Mr. Akbar Ali Udupi, State Secretary of Jamaate Islami Hind, Karnataka, remarked on the occasion, “Spending time with children is like being in the garden of Heaven. The tongue is the face of one’s personality, so use it to show love, compassion, sacrifice, and empathy. Today, BOSCO has recognized you; tomorrow, let the whole world recognize you.”

Pujyashri Shivanubhava Charamurthy Shivarudra Swamiji, Spiritual Leader and Founder of Sri Belimatha Maha Samsthana Socio-Cultural and Education Trust, expressed his delight at the children’s radiant smiles. Quoting Basavanna’s Vachanas, he advised them to follow Don Bosco’s resolution to cultivate kindness, respect elders, and pursue education with dedication, as these values will guide them to success and happiness.

Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director of BOSCO, Bengaluru, delivered the presidential address.

The children witnessed a great orchestral performance by Sapna Melodies. The children staged cultural programmes, delivering scintillating performances while dressed in colourful costumes. In preparation for the feast of Don Bosco, a month-long celebration was organized for the children, featuring events such as a quiz competition, sports day, and various cultural competitions. Winners were recognized and awarded during the valedictory function. Approximately 600 children, along with friends and well-wishers of BOSCO, gathered at BOSCO Mane in Bengaluru to mark the occasion.
