Children’s Day Celebration at BOSCO Bengaluru

BOSCO Bengaluru organized Children’s Day for children of the most vulnerable and marginalized sections of Bengaluru, on 16th November 2025.  The event aimed at encouraging and nurturing the holistic development of the least-privileged children in society. Every segment of the day’s programme revolved around the inspiring theme: “UPHOLD OUR HOPES – UNFOLD OUR DREAMS”

Sri. Chandrashekar, former Corporator of the BBMP Chamrajpet Ward in Bengaluru, inaugurated the rally at St. Theresa’s Girls High School. Sri. N. Santhosh Hegde, a former judge of the Supreme Court of India, former Solicitor General of India, and Lokayukta (ombudsman) for Karnataka, addressed the crowd, saying, “You should aim to become successful and wealthy, but through fair means. Follow the teachings of BOSCO, and your life will become meaningful and fruitful.”

During the event, Ms. Mokshitha Pai, a TV actress and YouTube vlogger, inspired the children to study hard, aim for success, and assist those less fortunate. Sri. Yogesh Master, an author, publisher, theatre artist, psychological educator, and researcher, shared stories emphasizing that teaching is the most effective way to learn. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director of BOSCO Bengaluru, delivered the keynote address. Mr. Vasudev Sharma, Executive Director and Trustee of Child Rights Trust in Bengaluru, also spoke at the event.

The celebration unfolded in seven meaningful phases, each crafted to strengthen self-esteem, inspire aspirations, and motivate the children toDream – Believe – Achieve. Chance games and theme-based cultural programmes were organized during the event. Stakeholders identified by BOSCO for their contributions to the protection and promotion of child rights at the centres and areas of its service were awarded the Makkala Mitra Award. Children who have excelled in cultural, social, sports and educational fields were awarded the Prathibha Puraskara Award during the event. The event was a colourful mega celebration and an honourable treat for 1,000 children of the centres of BOSCO and its areas of intervention, animated by the committed presence of 140 BOSCO staff members and volunteers.
