COMMUNITY AWARENESS PROGRAMME

Special Juvenile Justice Unit (SJPU) Programme, BOSCO Bengaluru, organized a community awareness programme at Bhavaninagar Slum, K G Nagar, Bengaluru, on August 3, 2019. PN Basavaraju, Coordinator, SJPU, BOSCO, Bengaluru, spoke about child rights, child related issues such as child trafficking, child labour, child marriage, child abuse, children dropping out of school, etc. citing various examples. He also spoke about Child Marriage Act-2006, POCSO Act-2012, JJ Act -2015 and SJPU procedures. The community people ensured that they would report cases of school drop outs, child marriages, eloping, etc. in their neighbourhood, if any, to the concerned authorities. Asha, PSI, Aslam and Mahalingappa, Head Constables, K G Nagar Police Station were present for the programme. Hundred and thirty-five people participated in the programme.
