Dasara Camps were organized for the children at the BOSCO centres and areas on the theme, ‘Family is Where I Belong’, during the second and third week of October 2024. The children were engaged in various activities so that they could use their time constructively and hone their skills during the Dasara vacations. Children were taught action songs and dance. Children were engaged in various activities such as meditation, yoga, music, singing, drawing, painting, quiz, craft, aari work, floral art, clay models, pick and act, pick and speak, tabloid formation, trash to treasure, night Olympics, sports, indoor and outdoor games, party games and fun games. Competitions were held. Children of BOSCO Vatsalya Bhavan were taken to “Friend in Need Society’s Home” for the elderly at Shivajinagar. Children visited Bamul Bengaluru Co-operative Milk Union LTD at Nandhini Milk Product Complex in Kanakapura. They went to the ETA Mall to watch a movie. Youths of BOSCO Sumanahalli watched Martin movie. All the children and youth of the centres and the children attending tuition classes attended the camp.
Fr. Abhilash SDB, Br. Ajay, Sacred Heart Brothers, Directors and staff of the respective centres and areas were the resource persons for the camps. Mr. Prakash, HM, GHPS, Jakkasandra, Gowramma, Angandwadi School Teacher, Savitri Bai, SDMC, Member, Mr. Rajesh, Labour Officer, Mr. Shivakumar ASI and Mr. Nagesh, Head Constable, Girinagar Police Station, were present on the occasion.
The camp helped the children in acquiring social responsibility, good manners, punctuality, leadership, team spirit, cleanliness and participation. Appreciation medals were given to the winners. Prizes were distributed to all the teams by the dignitaries.
