Foster Care Awareness

Foster Care Project, BOSCO Bengaluru, organized awareness sessions for the stakeholders – Self-Help Group (SHG) members, Anganwadi Centers, Masthenahalli, Jigani Hobali, Anekal Taluk, Bengaluru, Panchayat Raj Institution (PRI) Members, Ragihalli, Grama panchayath, Jigani Hobali and Karpuru Grama Panchayat, Anekal Taluk, Bengaluru, Anganwadi Mothers, Anganwadi Center, Dommasandra, Sarjapura Hobali, Anekal Taluk, Bengaluru and Primary School Teachers, Government Kannada Model Primary School, Goripalya, Bengaluru at their respective offices during March 2021. Facilitating the sessions, Oblesh K, Social Mobilizer, BOSCO Foster Care Programme, briefed about BOSCO and its services; concept of foster care, adoption, foster care guidelines and the procedures involved in fostering a child. He said that the stakeholders could help BOSCO by disseminating the information about foster care and also help in identifying prospective Foster parents and children in need of care and protection. Twenty SHG Members, forty-two PRI Members, twenty-four Aganawadi Mothers and six Primary School Teachers benefitted from the awareness sessions.
