Foster Care Virtual Meeting

The Foster Care Virtual Meeting via Google Duo Meet was held at  BOSCO Mane on December 19, 2024 with the District Directors and Social Mobilizers.  Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director of BOSCO, informed that an MOU had been signed between the ICPS Director and BOSCO regarding the implementation of Foster Care Programme in Karnataka, the copy of which would be shared with all the twenty districts. He elaborated the activities to be taken up with the respective DCPUs in the districts. He stressed the need for legalizing the children in Foster Care for adoption. There were discussions on building rapport with the new CWC members, printing of new IEC materials, etc.

Shivamallu, Coordinator, Foster Care said that in some districts staff were not clear with the JJ Act formats, there is a need to focus more on the placement and CWC follow up of children, reports and documents to be updated and Planning and Monitoring Meeting to be conducted in January 2025. Shivamallu welcomed the participants and Mr. Obalesh, Social Mobilizer, Foster Care Programme, Bengaluru Rural proposed the vote of thanks. There were thirty-seven members including the Directors and Social Mobilizers in the meeting.
