Facilitators from St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru conducted a health awareness programme for the children of BOSCO Vikas, Mane and Vatsalya Bhavan on November 18, 2024, at the centre. The session started with an ice-breaking activity. This was followed by two thought-provoking stories one about a lion and another about a seed designed to captivate the children’s interest and set the tone for the session’s themes.

Mr. Prakash led an action song as a lively warm-up activity, and later introduced the crucial topic of safe touch and unsafe touch. The discussion transitioned to age-appropriate matters, addressing the natural curiosity arising from hormonal changes. The facilitators emphasized the importance of thoughtful decision-making, advising the children to refrain from acting on curiosity without fully understanding potential consequences. This segment aimed to nurture informed and responsible behavior.

The latter part of the session shifted focus to the significance of healthy hygienic practices in daily life. Mr. Sachin highlighted the connection between attentive listening and adopting positive habits, urging the children to follow hygienic routines diligently to prevent future health issues. The session wrapped up with practical tips and engaging discussions, reinforcing the core lessons and ensuring the children were left with a clear understanding of the topics covered. Sixty-five children attended the session.
