Don Bosco’s month was inaugurated at all BOSCO centres, in the presence of children and youth, from January 2 to 5, 2026. The representatives of each centre and area, along with their Directors, garlanded the statue of the Saint. Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director of BOSCO Bengaluru, exhorted the children and youth at the centres to learn more about Don Bosco and to imbibe at least one virtue of Don Bosco during the year. The Directors of the centres gave the example of Don Bosco and his sacrifice and dedication towards youth. They spoke about the importance of celebrating Don Bosco’s Month, St. John Bosco’s work, his mission and his vision. They encouraged the youth to imitate Don Bosco and consider him a role model. Children sang hymns honouring St. John Bosco. Children also performed cultural programmes. All the centre and area children and youth participated in the inauguration event.
