BOSCO Nilaya under the auspices of HDFC, Bengaluru, organized Karate Belt Grading Exam at BOSCO Life Skill Training Center, Sumanahalli on February 17, 2019. Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, BOSCO Nilaya, in the keynote address said, “Work is Worship. Hard work always pays. Karate is mainly to empower girls to fight for their rights.” Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, BOSCO Sumanahalli and CHILDLINE recalled the words of Usain Bolt and motivated children to work hard and become successful. Among the students supported by BOSCO Nilaya, one child was given the grade of Blue Belt, twenty-three children Orange Belt and fourteen children Yellow belt respectively. Six Karate Instructors conducted the exam. Mr. Marilinga and Mr. Lingappa, Karate Instructors were felicitated during the programme. Belts, Certificates and Prizes were distributed to all the participants. Thirty-eight children from Vinobhanagar, Gurappa Garden, Vyayam Shale, Cement Huts, Ramanna Garden and Jolly Mohalla participated. Seventy-nine children from various parts of Bangalore also participated in the Belt Grading Exam. Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO Bengaluru and Mr. Amal, Project Manager, HDFC Project, were present at the event.
