The girls residing in BOSCO Rainbow Home were given a session on ‘Friendship’ by Sr. Mary Shamala, Counsellor, BOSCO Rainbow Home on January 7, 2025. Children were allowed to debate on what makes up healthy and unhealthy friendship. Group sharing was done in two ways: first, with their closest friends they like, and second, with people they don’t want to. They learned from this activity that they should treat everyone with the same respect and have the same love and care for them.
The children also played a game called “Grabbing the Dog’s Bone.” Through this game, they learned how to be sincere and honest in their friendship and how to help one another maintain a strong bond. They realized that having a healthy friendship would benefit their mental health, help them avoid stress and anxiety, and provide them with emotional support, mutual understanding, listening, and empathy. Twenty-four girls benefited from this session.
