National YaR Day Campaign

On August 30, 2025, the closing ceremony of the National YaR Campaign for 2024-2025, the online launch of the 2025-2026 campaign, and the celebration of YaR Day took place under the theme, “Uphold Our Hopes – Unfold Our Dreams.” The inaugural event was graced by esteemed guests, including Ms. Vijayalakshmi Arora, Child Rescue Specialist at UNICEF, New Delhi; Fr. Joe Prabhu, Executive Director of DB YaR Forum, New Delhi; Fr. Maria Das, Rector and Director of DB Ashalayam; Sr. Asha, Sister Superior at DB Snehalaya, along with representatives of the children.

The programme commenced with a welcome address and a prayer, followed by the screening of a short film on positive parenting. Children from Don Bosco Ashalayam and Snehalaya, New Delhi, presented a drama titled “Uphold Our Hopes – Unfold Our Dreams.” The event also featured dance performances and poetry recitations by the children. Mr. William shared highlights from the previous year’s campaign, “Family is Where I Belong.”

Ms. Vijayalakshmi Arora and the other dignitaries unveiled the campaign poster for 2025-2026, on the theme, “Uphold Our Hopes – Unfold Our Dreams.” Fr. Joe Prabhu delivered a message reflecting on the theme.

To commemorate YaR Day, BOSCO centres, including BOSCO Yuvodaya, BOSCO Yuvakendra, BOSCO Nilaya, BOSCO Nivas, BOSCO Yuvaspandana, BOSCO Sumanahalli, BOSCO Rainbow Home, BOSCO Vatsalya Bhavan, BOSCO Mane, and BOSCO Vikas, organized awareness sessions for both children and staff, centred around the theme. BOSCO Nivas also conducted an awareness session for the children of the Government Boys Home in the presence of Ms. Leena Kallamanavar, DCPO, Bengaluru, Central Division. Poster-making, drawing, and painting competitions were held for the children to mark the occasion. The staff and children from the centres participated in the online meeting and engaged in the launch of the YaR Day Campaign.
