CHILDLINE Collab, BOSCO organized open house programme in collaboration with Foster Care and SJPU, BOSCO at Govt. Higher Primary School, Pantharapalaya, Bengaluru, on December 19, 2018. In the keynote address, Fr. Prasad SDB, Director, CHILDLINE, BOSCO Bengaluru said, “The Government has instituted various statutory bodies and mechanisms to ensure the care and protection of children.” He briefed about child related policies, the services rendered by the child helpline and the objectives of the open house programme. Puttaswamy, Byadrayanapura Police Station, Bengaluru, said that children should keep away from anti-social elements and drug-peddlers on the prowl.
Mr. Basavaraj, Coordinator, SJPU, BOSCO Bengaluru spoke about Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and POCSO Act, 2012. Mr. Shivamallu, Coordinator, Foster Care Project, BOSCO Bengaluru explained about Foster Care Project and the roles and responsibilities of children in child rights clubs. Mr. Nagaraj, Headmaster, Govt. Higher Primary School, Pantharapalaya, Bengaluru appreciated the efforts of CHILDLINE in rescuing and rehabilitating children in need of care and protection. Ms. Vinushree compered the programme and Ms. Usha Nayak, Coordinator, CHILDLINE Collab, BOSCO Bengaluru proposed vote of thanks. Over hundred and thirty children participated in the programme.
